Why doesn't Chromecast work with any streaming video site?

Which streaming video sites are you unable to use with Chromecast? I've used several so it may be a local network issue...

You should be able to mirror what's playing on your phone to your TV with no issues

Dailymotion says that their web player supports Chromecast when it's able to detect that a Chromecast is available. Does the Chromecast icon appear in a corner of the video?
