Help Why doesn't my phone ring when someone calls my Google Voice number?

Whenever someone uses my Google Voice number, my phone never rings. I just get the voicemail in Hangouts after the call.

As far as I can tell in the settings, the number is setup to forward to my phone. It used to work, and I haven't changed anything. Except I have a new phone (but not a new phone number), if that matters.

Do I need the Voice app installed for this to work? Is there some setting I'm missing?

Yes...I would definitely start with downloading the Google Voice app on your new phone. I do think that is your problem.

I know that when I have accidentally shut down Google Voice background processes, that I have the same problem as you described.
