Help why has samsung brought out a "lagfix" themselves

Metusion

Newbie
I really dislike "hacking" my phone or flashing it with unofficial firmware, but why hasn't Samsung just included the "lagfix" in their newest official firmware? I doubt Samsung doesn't know about this. Some said that with newer firmware the phone works lagfree, but that isn't official. Its kind of frustrating having to wait for firmware when fixes are all around the net. I just don't want to take the risk of messing up my phone.

I did the one click lag fix found on marketplace and the phone is now lag free and super fast. Samsung should be ashamed others are doing their work lol

official firmware of the Epic 4G ( US carrier Sprint's version of Galaxy S) has lag fix. That means Samsung knows about it. They might release it with their froyo 2.2 update. Lets wait and see.

Doesnt that 1 click lag fix from the Market root your phone?

I dont want my phone rooted.

the lag fixes use a different filesystem than samsung have on the phone, samsung are using their own RFS type, and the lagfixes are using EXT2,3 YAFFS etc, so i doubt they'd change their whole filesystem over cause they'd be admitting that their own in house filesystem sux balls. Maybe they'll do something to make their FS better but as for using these current lag fixes in FWs dont hold your breath.

I wanna be sure that the one click lag fix wont root my phone.

I want my OTA froyo update.

i have done the lag fix and it rooted my phone, i had to put it into recovery mode etc but the app downloaded the update.zip and placed it on the internal mem. This doesnt even matter if you dont want to root...sorry :)
