When I turn my phone on the loading screen comes on and i virbates but then ihe screen goes black and never lights up? What is wrong with it? It a Droid 3X

There are literally hundreds of things that could be going on here.
You need to provide more information in order to get to the root (no pun intended
) cause. Things like, are you rooted? If so, any custom roms/kernels/recoveries installed? What android version are you on? Did you just install an OTA update?
One way you may be able to fix this without providing any other knowledge, would be to simply do a hard/factory reset on the phone. NOTE: this will delete ALL DATA on your phone, everything saved will be wiped, including photos, music, apps, everything. If you would like to try this, follow the steps below:
1.) Turn the phone completely off (pull battery, reinsert battery).
2.) Slide the keyboard open.
3.) Simultaneously hold POWER and the X key on the keyboard.
4.) Slide the keyboard closed, and hold down Vol + & Vol -
5.) A menu should pop up on the phone. To move up and down between menu items, use the vol + and vol - buttons. To make a selection from the menu, use the POWER button.
6.) Select "Wipe data/factory reset".
7.) Select "Yes -- delete all user data"
8.) Let the phone do it's thing.
9.) Try rebooting the phone.
