Why is my miscellaneous file so full?

JohnTron

Lurker
When I got to my storage, it says that my miscellaneous (before tapping it) takes up 5.16GB. When I click on my miscellaneous file, it says the following:
System Memory =4.36GB
-.Hnc=7.79MB
-Chargelocker=4.11MB
-Samsung=2.94MB
-Go Speed=1.17MB

I don't know what's going on so if anyone can explain, please go ahead and help
Also, if so, can I delete any of these without it messing up my phone?

"System Memory" is the Android operating system, rather like the Windows folder on drive C: in a PC. You can't delete that, otherwise the thing wouldn't boot and your Samsung is a paperweight.

Fortunately you also can't delete it because the phone won't let you ;)

"Miscellaneous" is an unhelpful description that many manufacturers have stopped using. All it means is "stuff that isn't a user app, music, video, or one of the few other categories we list in this menu". Different phones call it different things; the best I've seen is "system and other", which is an accurate description of it and makes clear that a large part of it is system.

It's probably not even just the system files: they normally include the entire size of the system partitions in this total, which is actually sensible as you cannot access those partitions yourself so they may as well be full as far as you are concerned.
