Why is my music crackling?

So I got my brother's phone (HTC Sensation) with Cyanogen on it. I downloaded WinAmp, the music app I used on my old Xperia X10, and played some music through my headphones. Certain songs I found to have odd popping or crackling sounds in the background. This didn't happen with my old phone, nor did it happen with WinAmp. Anyone know what the problem could be?

I'll give the Bluetooth headset a try.

Tried two other pair of headphones with the exact same problem.
Any other suggestions?

Is there something unique about the encoding of these particular tracks?

Solved it. Turned out WinAmp, the music app, was the problem.
So... Yeah. No more WinAmp.

That's odd, I use winamp pro on Wildfire S, Xperia U, N7 and an Allwinner generic tab without any problems, syncs with desktop version OK.
