Hi I have a Sony Xperia xa1 which I have had for about six months when I was looking in the settings and the sim status it is saying service type was in service but mobile network state was disconnected, the strange part is in the my phone number part it doesn’t have my phone number but an old phone number I used to have How is this possible

Hi not that I’m aware of im really confused about this, I can’t understand why my settings wouldn’t show the number that I am using, if I had put an old sim in the phone would this happen ?

The phone number is associated to the SIM, not the phone, so it could. If course in that case the phone wouldn't ring if someone called your new number, so it's easy to test.

I can't think of any other reason why a new phone would show your old number.

If you were replacing your SIM then the new SIM will sometimes show a different number for a while before the system updates (i.e. before the new SIM is associated to your old number), but that sounds like the opposite of what you are describing.
