Why must we wait!!

I love my android products but when it comes to apps it seems like we have to wait forever for them to come out or improve, for instance mlb at bat 11 , live video works for some phones and tablets , not all, and video is so choppy and pixelated you can barely read the scores but for rotten apple it is crystal clear, mlb's response we dont think android users will pay 15 dollars for app so we didnt put much work into the android app,gee thanks, also no netflix ,no hulu, no new cablevision or time warner app which is on the rotten apple , it just seems like were on the shortlist, im physched for the new samsung galaxy10.1 but with no killer apps whats the point? 100 tablets app compared to 60,000 icrappad apps

Complain at the dev, they would be responsible for updating their apps to a higher version of the sdk. However it may make the app no longer supported by some earlier version of android. The dev also must look at the % of users with each version of android if by making the app look better for a small amount of users will prevent a larger amount of users from receiving future updates they must take that into account as well. This can be fixed if more devs start selling licenses that unlock full features on apps but not many do at this point

We won't pay $15 and Apple users will. That is why acording to recent research their accounts are empty and ours are not ;).

  1. iPhone has been around longer, and has been popular for much longer, so many apps were written for iPhone first
  2. Android has many different phones and versions. Need to create your app to be compatible with as many of those as possible. iPhone has very few phones and software versions to worry about
  3. MLB app and MLB.tv are both crap. They charge an arm and a leg for something that should be FREE.

Yes, FREE. MLB gets it's money from the advertisements they sell on TV. You watch it on tv, you see the ads. That's the deal.

They also show (at least when I used MLB.tv a while back before ditching it) ads on MLB.tv. However, you now have to pay for the "priviledge" of watching the games /commercials on your computer and/or phone.

It's stupid, really. They can make money because people will continue to pay it - even if their app is garbage.

The best way to get their attention is to vote with your wallet.

I understand your frustration. I am also very frustrated with Skype. Skype didnt update its android app since January- thats just unbelievable. It shows that they dont give a damn about android users.

But the good thing is that, android is growing really FAST. It already has the largest market share in UK and USA. Bastard companies like Skype and MLB will be FORCED to update their crappy apps if they dont want to go bankrupt. Just wait and watch.

Not that I care either way cause I dont have the app and dont plan to ever get it, but this statement isnt correct. MLB sells ads on TV and you watch it on TV so you watch the ads as well. Thats the deal, right? BUT...you PAY for your cable TV which intale allows you to watch the game. So why is it any different if you are watching on your phone? If they develope an app to watch it on your phone then they should be allowed to charge for it just like you are charged for your cable.

Just how I see it...

Stop using logic! I've seen people complain for having to see the dev's names each time an app was launched because it was a paid app.

No, you pay to get premium channels. The basic channels are free over the air using rabbit ears (antenna) in the US.

I can watch MLB on Fox without paying anything (other than the cost of the TV).

Even if you pay for cable, that goes to the cable company (analogous to your cell phone provider or internet provider) and not MLB.

Um...no

You pay the cable company and advertisers pay the cable company (in the case of using an antenna just advertisers pay). The cable company pays for the right to air the channel. The channel pays for the right to broadcast/distribute MLB content.

Cash flow goes from the end user to the MLB and the end user still sees ads as they supplement payment. You pay $15 for the app and access.

You could get mlb.tv at Watch Live Streaming Baseball Online with MLB.TV | MLB.com: Subscriptions and the cheapest subscription is $100 for the entire year I would think the mlb.tv subscription is ad free.
