Help Why oh why can't WE decide which Apps save to Ext Card

CityMaps2Go App as you can appreciate has quite a lot of data (maps) associated with it.
My phone's internal memory is fast reaching capacity so I asked "Ulmon" who created the App how to move it to the external card.
They directed me to "Application Manager", where sure enough there is a button saying "Move To SD Card"..............but it's greyed out!
Typical, most other Apps which take up next to no room at all, all have this button "active".

I have 64GB of prime external card real-estate just begging to be used is it possible to overcome this barrier?

I have already tried moving the folder from phone to card, and then the App can't find the maps!
Help appreciated. :)

If your phone is rooted, Link2SD will move City Maps to the SD card. But from what it looks like, the maps are still stored in internal storage - /data/media/0/Android/data/com.ulmon.android.citymaps2go/files/maps, to be specific. You could ask them if they could add a choice of internal or external storage to Settings.

(The reason you can't move the maps to external storage with some app now is because that path [the one above] is hard-coded into City Maps 2 Go. An app has to be written to give you the choice to store its data to external storage.)
