Why S5 but no S4

Why is virgin getting the S5 before they get the S4 or even if they do get the S4. The 5 might be a little out of my price range but the 4 shouldn't be to bad on price with the 5 being out. Also I have heard many negative reviews on the S5 and would definitely rather have a S4

Usually Virgin Mobile, and other MVNOs, would not get a new phone until it had been out for a while, but that's started to change recently (last 6 months or so).

I'm hoping they might bring on the S4 at a more reasonable price when they bring on the S5. Getting the S3 when they have the S5 out just seems like too far a stretch and the S5 will definitely be pricey! My wife is currently in the market and not sure what to get, we are waiting to see what happens when the S5 hits VM, prices on some of the other options are bound to go down and hopefully they'll bring out some other alternatives alongside it?

It's probably because the prepaid market is beginning to become a more lucrative one in the US, like the rest of the world. In turn, the demand for more current phones is greater as well. I chalk it up as a win-win situation.

I would expect Virgin to target the S5 @ $500. Then that would mean that a new S3 will be $200 (1/2) of its introductory price. There is really nothing wrong with a S3. Your going to get the same android level as a s5, Maybe the camera is a bit less, but I look at it this way, if you really want to take Great Pictures, get a Digital SLR !

It's a Samsung Phone, who cares? They've ruined their hardware with TouchWiz.

some unknown person on amazon listed the S5 for VM for $599:
Amazon.com: Samsung Galaxy S5, White 16GB - Prepaid Phone (Virgin Mobile): Cell Phones & Accessories

and its on preorder at bestbuy for boost mobile for $599:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/boost-m...s-5-4g-no-contract-cell-phone-white/5562651.p

no sight of the VM version on bestbuy.com yet; but it will be soon

That's Amazon's official listing, although it looks like they have not completed it. The pre-order option is direct from Amazon. The price & release date could change before the official release, which does happen often on Amazon. If you were to pre-order it, and the price goes down before it ships, you will get the lowest price.
