Why won't the players read both the phone HD and the SD card?

I have a Droid Incredible, and I have music stored on both the phone and the SD card. Meridian and Cubed only read the music that's on the SD card, and while the music player that came with the phone reads both, it can't play FLAC or apple lossless files (DoubleTwist does neither). Is there any way to either reconfigure Meridian or Cubed, is there anyway to get the music player that came with the phone to play those formats, or is there some other player that reads all the data AND plays those formats.

Thank you all for your help. Cheers.

I think its because a good amount of phones do not have the ability to store music on the internal memory. So the developers designed their apps to work by just using the SD card only. I'm sure its possible if they made one, if the stock one does, but who knows.
