Help Wi-Fi connection for Galaxy S5

Just a few days ago my phone's battery went from lasting around 3 days to lasting maybe 8 hours. It's now searching for a connection every few seconds (I have not downloaded any new apps). My wi-fi connection hasn't changed, it is very strong, link speed is 144Mbps, but for some reason the phone never stops scanning and sucking my battery dry.
