Widget Locker Security

Greetings,

I love the features that the WidgetLocker app has, but it seems to disable security, I setup a PIN lock on my phone via the Android settings menu, but then it never prompts me for the PIN after I hit WL's unlock slider.

Do I have to choose between a secure phone and using WL?

Can I use pattern lock?
Yes! If you enable pattern lock in the System Settings, WidgetLocker will respect it. When your phone wakes up you will see WidgetLocker, but if you try to leave WidgetLocker, by unlocking or opening a program, you will be prompted for the pattern.
Can I use the Android 2.2 PIN/Password lock?
Yes, but on non-Sense devices it will not be as seamless as the pattern lock. After unlocking WidgetLocker you will see the stock unlock screen, and after unlocking that you will see the PIN/Password entry. On HTC Sense devices the middle step is bypassed, but I have not yet found a way of doing this on other devices. I am looking into the manner.

According to their website you should still have a secure phone. I would contact the dev to see if they can address the issue.

WidgetLocker does not bypass security. Most common reports of such problems are either:

1) You have a delay set for the time before the security kicks in and test before the delay is up. If this is the case, wait until the delay has passed.
2) You're using NoLock or similar to disable the stock lock screen. This disables the security. Don't use NoLock.

I've used widgetlocker along with PIN code.

My guess is exactly what Kevin is saying. Either delay of the PIN security time or another apps is disabling it.

Hi

Forgive me if I am asking a stupid question but new to the Android experience...

I have got a Galaxy S2 and have music player and camera sliders on the widget locker lock screen but when i try to activate them it goes to the Android screen lock (I use pattern lock).

Once I have input pattern it then goes to the requested app. Am I right in thinking it should bypass the Android screen lock screen?

I installed widgetlocker app on my atrix. I clicked "disable stock lock screen" from the settings by mistake. I don't know how to enable the security back. Even if I uninstall widgetscreen locker, the security is not getting enabled. why is this option not a toggle.

Can somebody please help me?

I got the answer. It didn't disable the security. The security kick off time is changed to 15 minutes.
