Widget locker under Marshmellow

I've been using Widget Locker for several years, but it has not been updated for Marshmellow and I am unable to make any changes to the screen. It still works for the setup I used earlier, but I would like to make a couple of changes.

Has anyone found a work-around? Or is there any other locker app that does the same kind of thing? I've tried a couple that looked promising, but they limited the number of apps I could get on the locker screen.

I just used it for the Unlock animations. Never even thought about adding apps. I think Nova Launcher has all their attention nowadays.
