Please forgive me if this has been discussed, as I have spent the last 2 days searching here and all over the web for an answer to this problem.
I downloaded widgetlocker (thanks to the recommendations here) and one of the features I loved the most was the 'Easy Wake Method' and being able to wake the phone using the volume key rather than the power key.
There are two reasons for this:
1. I am a lefty, therefore my phone will most always be picked up with this hand.
2. I use a Gel Case that makes the power button really hard to press and it is SUPER annoying, but I really like the case except for that reason.
It worked fine for the first day or so, but now this 'easy wake' function only works intermittently.
This is definitely not a deal breaker for me, but I really would like to just depend on the volume key to wake the phone with my thumb when I pick it up with my left hand. I am otherwise fumbling around trying to press that power key. I actually have a callous on my right thumb from the power button and I do not want to replace my case.
I have tried rebooting, turning on and off the 'use any hardware button to wake', turning on and off the 'allow volume buttons in lock mode' and nothing works.
PS: I am also using the paid version of beautiful widgets and have a weather widget on my lock screen and only 3 other applications on there (text, call button and shopping list, I have tried removing all that stuff too, because I would rather have this function work than any other.
PS I have freakishly tiny hands too and I am a woman so I will complain about things like this LOL Thanks for being patient with me.
