Hi i have 3 android phones in the house galaxy 5500,9000and tab i have two question please
1) how do i ensure that the phones are using my wifi connection at home(which is already paid for) and not 3g which will incur hidden costs?
2) how do i delete pre installed applications on the phone that i do not want my daugther to have access to eg Mixit?
Regards

1) It will always choose a know Wifi access point over 3G if available. Just make sure your home Wifi is remembered. If you want to be sure 3G stays off, you can disable 3G in the settings, or using something like APN droid.

2) Most pre-installed apps cannot be uninstalled unless you root the device.

Thank you how do i root the device and delate Mixit?

On my LG Optimus S, it's not possible to have both WiFi and 3G data on at the same time. You can only switch between them. You can do that from the Android menu (Setting button -> Settings -> Wireless & networks). But I use the free app "QuickSettings" to quickly manage that and many other things, like WiFi Hotspot, BlueTooth, GPS, Brightness, etc.

That certainly wasnt true for my LG Optimus S. There are only a couple core Sprint apps that I can't delete from the Android menus (Settings button -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications).
