WIFI calling for a few

So a few will get wifi calling of course not me I have my trusty Samsung S5 I'm not getting but sure do need it.
Just another reason I hate Verizon so much. But this is why next time I'm going somewhere else and I have been with Verizon forever.

My question is --- Is there any other way to get wifi calling if verizon is not offering it. I will bet not but you people here have come up with so many great ideas. Thanks IA

If you don't mind using a second phone number you can do WiFi calling through Google Hangouts. There are some other WiFi calling apps in the Play Store.

If you have Google Hangouts installed just install the Hangouts Dialer:

I'm downloading the update right now to my S6 Edge. Has anyone used it yet? Do we know if it defaults to wifi calling when the phone is connected to wifi or if it only tries when it loses cell signal? Will SMS be received over wifi as well? I can't get a VZW signal at my parents' house so this will be great for me when I visit them.

I'm not so sure that WiFi calling is a panacea for all things broke.

My internet connection is ADSL and it goes and comes with the blowing winds across the prairie grass.

Obviously, WiFi calling won't fix things for people with poor or no internet service. But it will help a lot of people which makes it a Good Thing in my book. We have T-Mobile WiFi calling and use it whenever we're home even though T-Mobile's signal is strong enough we don't need to. It really works well.

Good question about SMS and do they come over WiFi. I think they do on T-Mobile but I'll have to check to be sure.
