Is this just me, or a broader user problem? Using the wifi calling I have call dropouts, warbling, and other wifi only issues. Is this a known problem?

I'ld believe this is an LG, not MetroPCS problem, but I'm not a techie.

How well it works has a lot to do with the quality of your wifi connection. Do you have this issue on any wifi you use, or just some?
Mine generally works very well. This is not on an LG currently although I've had LG's in the past, it really shouldn't matter.

Check your online connectivity, in your phone's browser try going go to:
https://speedof.me
do a test and see what your download and your upload speeds are. Try this when there isn't anyone also using your online broadband to get some baseline numbers. Do this again when other people are also doing things online and see how fast the test numbers are. Just some things to keep in mind as you're diagnosing your problem:
-- U.S. carriers tend to restrict upload speeds so your download numbers will most likely be significantly higher than your upload speeds. During a WiFi call note that your download speed correlates to reception quality (what you hear) while your upload speed correlates to transmission quality (what your caller hears).
-- If sometimes WiFi calls are relatively OK and other times not, when it's not that could be an issue where someone else in your household is doing something online -- i.e. watching hi-res streaming content or uploading a lot of files.
-- Just anecdotally I've found even a clear 3Mbps up and down is adequate for uninterrupted WiFi calls. Phone calls in general are highly compressed (being just basic, mono voice-only audio signals) so they don't require much bandwidth, the problem being with so many things being tied to online connectivity in any given household a broadband connection can get a lot of use.

Thnx, but neither. The K20 is at most 6 feet away from the wifi and in direct line-of-sight. The speed is nominally 6 mps. I can stream ESPN and d/l large files simultaneously. So, if the foregoing is all there is, I've got a bad phone.
