Can you tell us what phone model and carrier you have plz?

That is odd. The Off <> On toggle indicates it's On but the little inverted cone WiFi logo isn't showing in the top Notification bar.
If you haven't done so recently, try just restarting your phone. You might also want to temporarily enable 'Airplane mode' and then try to enabling WiFi to see it things go back to normal.

Hope this message of appreciation goes out to all that replied. Toggling cured this phone in a millisecond. I thought of it but did not want to make it worse. How many "best answers" do you need to win something of value?
