My new Asus Zenfone 3s Max can connect to the Wi-fi network at my workplace, but there's something that prevents to access the internet. The basic facts are:

1. My phone can connect anyother wi-fi networks without any problem.
2. All my collegues with many different phone brands can connect to this network without any problem.
3. It says connected, the signal is full but no actual Internet.
4. Phone is not rooted, modified, it uses the zenui interface by default. It's a new phone.
5. I have access to the TP-LINK TL-WR541G router. It's set to 802.11/g, and uses WEP security.

I already tried to

– unplug, reboot and restart the router and the phone numerous times
– drop (forget) and reacquire the network numerous times
– switch Wifi connection from DHCP to Static and set IP, gateway & public DNS
– set the router to show proper time
– set the router mode to "802.11b"
– "Network Settings Reset" on the phone
– use several WiFi fixer app to repair without success
– disable many built-in phone apps such as Weather, Themes, ZenCircle, ZenFone, ZenTalk, Mobile Manager, Do It Later, Google App, etc to avoid conflicts

But everything I try, the symptoms remain the same: All apps are just waiting for connection, hourglasses, etc. For example, Messenger has the orange line says 'Connecting'... forever and Chrome's loading line stops to waiting at 10% for minutes, then: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET

What may cause this error, the phone or the router? The network is working for other people, and I can access every other network but this one. I already spent a whole day to figure it out but no success sofar.

Thanks for any help / suggestion!
