Wifi Connection Problem

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab a 6 ....Model SM-T280

The problem I am having is connecting to wifi when in my home....I have other devices that use wifi in the home Chromebook, Amazon Echo Dot I can connect with no problem to my ISP optimumwifi, However the Samsung Tablet does not detect the optimumwifi network and will not allow me to add the network.....................When I am outside the home the Samsung tablet has no problem detecting and connecting to Optimum wifi
I have searched in the settings mode and there is no way to accomodate / allow networks

Is there a way of correcting this on the tablet ? Has anyone had a similar experience ?

It is odd that your tablet isn't even detecting your home WiFi network. Have you already tried rebooting both your tablet and your router?
Also do you have an ISP supplied modem/router, or just your ISP's modem and you have your own router?

The network that my Chromebook and Echo Dot connect to but the Samsung Tablet does not is an ISP subscribed network...... Optimum wifi.( I register devices and MAC Address for devices with them, which then allows automatic sign on ) .............There is no home wifi router involved. (I do have a wired router in place but that is for desktop and tivo applications)
I have rebooted Tablet and returned to factory defaults. It stills detects the wifi signal outside of home but not inside home.

There's some clarification that's necessary, if you didn't have any wireless router at home than you wouldn't have any WiFi network at home. Odds are that you do indeed have a wireless router, be it an ISP-supplied modem/router, and from your description your own router, indicating you're either managing two concurrent home LANs but you're not aware that you are, or that your home router is connected to your ISP-supplied modem/router with a configuration problem being tied to having concurrent home LANs that should more than likely be managed and maintained as one home LAN.

For sake of clarification......I do not have a traditional wifi network set up at home. (searching through windows 10 hardware and configuration, there is no indication of a wireless router on my home network )
The ISP....... Optimum ......provides wifi services, IF you register your devices with Optimum, then automatic sign on is enabled. (in or outside of the home, on their subscribed to wifi network )
Before using any wifi devices in the home my hardware configuration was Desktop, ISP provided voice/modem Arris 1602 and a WIRED linksys router. That configuration remains the same.....have not added an independent wireless router to the configuration. As mentioned earlier the other devices detect and connect without issue, but the Android Samsung Tablet does not even detect the optimum wifi signal. Have tried Samsung Customer support to see if a setting or configuration needs to be adapted on the tablet, but they have no clue.

OK that does clear up things, but instead of Samsung Customer support wouldn't it be more productive to contact Optimum WiFi tech support in this matter? As it's not a conventional set up, it might be more practical to start with the source and then work your way down the chain to diagnose the problem.

This previous thread from AF refers to somewhat recent revelation that some Android devices are using a rotating MAC address feature, touted as some kind of 'security' measure but mostly just causing way more problems than it allegedly prevents:

Anyway, could be something to look into. Just check your Tab's MAC address to see that it's remaining consistent.

Thanks .....will check into the Mac Address angle.

The ISP was about as much help as Samsung except their response was simply being perplexed, they had nothing to offer in the way of help or diagnostics.

The WIFI network I connect to is the ISP (Optimum) location network, there is no wifi router in the home. They require me to register each wifi enabled device on their home site under my account and part of that registration process requires me to input the MAC address associated for each device. The two other devices always see the network and connect, but the android Samsung Tablet does not even detect. However, when in the open, outdoors it does connect automatically which is why the ISP supposedly requires the MAC address on file.
