WiFi - File exchange

Hello,
it would be useful for me to have an application to exchange files between my Tattoo and a PC through WiFi.

I was thinking about something standard, like FTP or Windows file sharing.

Do you know if an app like this is existing ?

I just mentioned this program in a previous post for MP3 streaming. ES file explorer has a LAN mode that allows easy file transfers using wifi (and it also has an FTP mode). I use it all the time when exchanging files from my PC to Droid. The app is free and well written.

Wow, I've been using Astro but this seems way more powerful. I'll play with this a while and see if it can replace Astro, AndFTP, and Subsonic all in one.

As much as I love Astro, ES is my file manager of choice. It was a bit tricky getting wifi to connect with Windows 7, but was more of a windows complication. I had to create a new user account which worked out fine.

Setting up the mp3 streaming was super easy, I actually didn't have to do anything on my Win7 PC. That may be because I have sharing setup already for the other things I do on my local network.

Hmm, the only negative I see is I can't view certain images directly in the explorer, it asks me to view in astro or gallery, with gallery not working.

This ES file explorer is really great !
Still I have to learn how to select multiple files in order to transfer to and from the PC.

I think this post can be very useful for many people (unless I was the only one that didn't know this ...)

Glad it worked out. That what this forum is for. To discover what others consider obvious. You can tag by selecting the second icon on the row just above your file list. The icon has a blue + sign. The taged files will be highlighted in blue. When done, hit the menu key, then operations (which will impact the tagged files).

I'll add my thanks as well. Bye-bye WebSharingLite :)

many thanks!

Hi:

I searched in the Market for ES File Explorer and came up with no hits and then went to Androlib and came up with no hits. Are you talking about EStrongs File Explorer?
