wifi hotspot from huawei ascend, connection problem

I'm using a cricket huawei ascend that has been updated to 2.2 beanbag froyo. Which has an option for creating a wifi hotspot. I'm also using a motorola cliq that has been updated to android 2.1. The motorola cliq picks up my wifi hotspot from the huawei ascend, connects, and remains connected with full signal but browser and internet do not work . I'm wondering if its a problem on the huawei side or the cliq, or both. I've tried using a wifi tether app but with the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

pls can some one help me out here....i just got a new Huawei android tablet ..it's got wi-fi...but it's not picking network i set up on my pc with my modem...pls how can i go about this ...can somebody help?

i had the same problem untill i called cricket and they told me i had to pay $10 amonth for the service

but you got wifi hotspot for the huawei ascend 1, i only thought it came in ascend2?
