Help Wifi issue at Work or public?

Hi All,

I am looking at forums and on the internet, its everywhere now.

S5 is having problems with connecting to Wifi? I bought S5 a week ago. Till today morning I dont have any problems in connecting to different Wifi networks.

All of a sudden, Wifi at my work not connecting to internet

I tried disconnect and reconnect
1.Rebooted twice
2.Airplane mode on and off
3.I saw that changing connect IP from DHCP to static might work, but unfortunately I dont see the connect button enabled when I change from DHCP to Static, So this one never works for me.
4.Forget and connect to Wifi also not works

Why this sudden problem where I found earlier today Wifi was just fine at my home.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks
Suren

So it's only one place that it's not connecting, your work's Wi-Fi, everywhere else, like home or public Wi-Fi it's OK?

Could be the workplace's Wi-Fi access point and router is acting wonky, and refusing connections from some devices. I had something like that happening in a hotel once, could connect the phone but not the laptop. Got them to reboot their Wi-Fi AP by cycling the power and it was fine after that.

I will try it from home and see if it connects OK or else I will try reset the phone with factory reset and clear cache procedure.

I dont even wanna think about the other option of returning and getting one as the seller will direct me to goto Samsung store..whihc is a pain I guess.

I will update you later

Wifi is not connecting in public.Could be the browser?
I will have try different then chrome.

Possibly, but not in the way you may think. Many public wifi networks use a proxy login which you should see when you open the browser. One you agree to the terms then you are redirected to the internet for whatever lease period they specify. Chrome is notorious for not following the proxy redirect, especially if you previously had pages open. Try closing all your browser windows and clear the cached sites. A different browser might also work.

nah just connect via wps by pressing wps button on Wi-Fi modem
Two points to make note of:
1) Work and public WiFi networks very rarely if ever allow general users physical access to the wireless router (and a lot of public WiFi is based on hard-wired, ceiling or post mounted access points) so 'pressing the WPS button' isn't a viable option.
2) Even recommending anyone to even use WPS is a huge disservice, it's a documented security hole that adds a weak spot to countless home networks. Touted as making it easier and more convenient for the consumer, it's also just outright dangerous to even use.
