Help wifi issue

When I connect to my wifi via either the drop down quick icons or in the settings section it is connecting then disconnects almost immediately. I have to do this a few times before I get a stable connection. It sometimes pops up with a message but disappears to quick to read it.. any advice ?

Only your own WiFi or other WiFi networks as well? If it's only your own, try restarting your WiFi router.

sorry my bad! the only two I've used are my own and round at the in-laws house

Does the Wi-Fi icon in quick settings (and in the Settings menu) flicker periodically, even though your Wi-Fi is off?
