WIFI only tablet and aGPS?

I don't see why it wouldn't. The GPS chip doesn't rely on an internet connection to get a signal.
The a in aGPS does! And the chips that are in these devices all seem to be a Texas Instruments ( like) that are very week by them selves compared to whats in a PND like Garmin.

But if you're right you don't need the MIFI if you have an app with maps!

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I believe aGPS can request a physical location from the device it is hooked into. As long as the MIFI can respond to that request.
