Wifi permanently on

Hi,

I noticed battery drain was quite high today so looked at my usage. I've attached screenshots, but basically I have been on battery since 7 this morning, and wifi has been using battery for all bar 2 mins of this. This is odd as my WiFi has been turned off since 7.30 this morning.

I went in, turned the WiFi on and off again, restarted the phone and then checked the battery stats again, but the 'WiFi has been on for' time just keeps increasing (GSAM app agrees with this). The only way to stop it is to put my phone in airplane mode.

Anyone had anything similar happen or know a way to fix this (not a factory reset!)

Some apps have the (dubious) permission of being able to turn wifi on... might be worth having a look at what you've installed to see if one of those is being sneaky in the background.

Well... You turn the WiFi off.... The app decides it wants to turn the the WiFi on.....

Really don't know if this is what you are seeing here, it was just a thought [emoji189]

If it was me.... I'd make sure I backed up all my data, make a list of what apps I want to reinstall.... And factory reset the device.... The check that it's working OK before installing my apps again one at a time... Checking that everything is working OK before installing the next one.

Might be AquaMail. Is it set up to sync regularly? That's what I would say at first. I don't use AquaMail so I don't know if it has the ability to turn on WiFi when it's off to sync. Just a thought.
