wifi problem

Samsung galaxy 4s wifi connection problem. When I try to connect to my home wifi, the box where I put in my password - the cancel button lights up but the connect button does not light up or respond. Therefore I can get no further - what am I doing wrong?

The connect button may not light up until the correct quantity of characters is entered. If you've mistyped the password you may have one too few or one too many characters in it. It could be difficult to type the characters in the password and your keyboard may make you think you succeeded when you did not. Pay special attention to what displays as you type.

Usually android comes with an option to show your password while you type, this should help in making things easier.
