Wifi scanning

I have PrinterShare that operates my HP printer connected my home wifi network via my Galaxy S2 phone or Galaxy Tab 2. But the attached scanner is too old; have to scan using the pc.

If I get a wifi All-in-One printer/scanner can I get an Andriod tablet to operate the unit; both printing and scanning?

I am thinking of replacing the printer and scanner anyway so I could get some experience; but want to know what others have found e.g. what All-in_Ones works and with what apps?

But I am also trying to help a friend who wants to get rid of her pc and scanner and printer and have only an All-in-One and a tablet

Certain printers are set up with Google to recognize Android devices, just look into whether or not the new printer is Google Cloud Print ready or not.

You can also check out the printer apps in Google Play Store to see their capabilities and what models are fully compatible. Major brands like HP, Canon, Epson among others have Android apps for their wireless printers.

Thank you for your replies. Printing is no problem.

Most of our my/her scanning will be of the "photocopier" type so just put the document in the All-in-One and press copy.

However if I want a scan and the results sent to the tablet? I can't see a way to send the file over wifi to the tablet; on machines in the price range envisaged. Scan to a memory stick then use my OTG to get the file on the tablet for further processing e.g. OCR?

Or from HP app "..Save and Share scanned and camera captured document to cloud and email..." Perhaps a way round
