Help Wifi starts unwanted...

I really don't know what the problem is but my wifi activates when i don't want it like when i'm at home!!!! I use "Profile Manager" and use a profile where i disactivated wifi but still it starts now and then... how would that come??

Btw: is it normal too that it sometimes keeps saying that there are "open wifi networks" while wifi is off?? Does it scans(all the time) for wifi networks???

I can say for certain with your Samsung S Advance but with my phone it will always search for a network unless I change that setting. I don't know how seamless Profile Manager works. Your phone settings should do the trick however.

I have a similar issue. If I go into Settings and manually DISABLE WiFi, I've noted that as soon as I come within range of a WiFi signal that I've previously connected with, my WiFi will turn on and re-connect to that network. This seems to defeat the purpose of disabling it.... ?? Personally, if I disable a setting, I did it for a reason and do NOT want it re-enabled until I do so.

Download "Wifimatic"!! Problem is solved!! One of the greatest apps i've seen.

When you leave home it disables wifi and when you return it activates it immediately!!

You can even work with a schedule to disactivate it like for the nights..

Thanks for the answers, but I kept digging until I found the answer. As it turns out, the AT&T Galaxy S-III comes with a suite of pre-installed apps. One of these is AT&T Smart WiFi, which has a control button which allows one to Enable/Disable WiFi... until you switch it yourself.
