Root Wifi Tether not working

Is it just me or does Wifi tethering not work on the LG Spectrum w/ root and WifiTether/foxfi? I couldn't get tethering to work on both v6 and v7. When I looked at the log on Wifitether, it said that the error was that the program failed at activating the ad hoc mode. Superuser activated the program, and all the other things were successful. It just seems to be this ad-hoc thing not working.
Can someone help me?

V6 it should work fine. But no go for V7 right now. I have used foxfi since I've had the phone until updating to V7. Now I'm forced to use pda net.

Odd. I tried an older version of WifiTether when it had Infanstructure mode still on it, the program loads up fine, no errors, and yet my devices don't even see it at all, as if it didn't exist.

EDIT: didn't realize pdanet was for PC-phone connectivity only. I was hoping to get wifi tether to allow phone-tablet connectivity. I tried bluetooth, but for some reason neither device can detect each other, which means one of them is BSing, and I don't have a third bluetooth device to test that.

Usb tether in pdanet. Wifi tether doesn't work at all outside of the hotspot app with a tether plan from VZW at the moment.
