Wifi turns on by itself..

My Wifi randomly turns on by itself. In my app settings..I'm unable to disable it due to it being grayed out. Any ideas on why?

What phone and Android version have you got? Initially I'm thinking you have it set to search for open wifi networks, which it may do by turning on your wifi.

Or, it might happen when you lose your mobile data signal. Just thinking out loud here.
