Help WiFi won't connect - Sky (RESOLVED)

Hi all,
Really hoping someone might be able to help me out here!

I've had my the S3 for a few months now and have always been able to connect to my home wifi without any problems. Last night, it disconnected itself and now will not connect again

It does the "Authenticating...", then "obtaining IP address..." but then I get the attention message:
Network disabled. Poor connection

We have 2 laptops in the house on the same wifi connection and they are both connected fine.

Phone states:
Signal Strength: Very Strong
Link speed: 54Mbps
Security: WPA PSK

The router is Netgear

No settings have been changed in respect of either the router or the phone etc

What I have tried:
1. Wi-Fi turn off/on
2. Phone turn off/on
3. Forget the connection, then re-add
4. Router channel is set to 11 but I changed it and changed back

Does anyone have any ideas please? I've trawled the internet and either the solutions haven't helped me or people haven't reported how they solved the issue :(

Many thanks, Charlie

I would download the WiFi Analyzer app from the Play Store. Let it scan then click the "eye" at the top and choose Channel Rating. By default most routers are set to channel 11 and you may have some serious interference. See which channel is the most quiet and try setting your router there.

Thanks Trucky,
I'm trying to get on Play Store now but without the wifi, the connection is timing out
The sticky label on the back of the router also states channel 11 so is it ok to change it then? (sorry - basic knowledge of this stuff!)
I did try it on channel 5 (random choice) via the Netgear settings page but still no change.....

If you're doing B/G you really only have 1, 6 and 11 without having adjacent channel overlap. Stick to one of those for best results.

Sooo pleased!

Went onto the Netgear Router settings page again and took a note of the MAC address in the Wireless Station Access List.

Removed MAC address (so lost wireless connection to all devices)

Cabled router to pc and went back onto page to re-add.

This solved it!

Thanks trucky for your suggestions....it kinda led me round to it in the end :o

Cool beans, glad you resolved it.

I would still check your channel assignments and find the best frequency for your location. It does make a difference.
