I have 3 512gb sd cards coming i was going to use for my home security system i was wondering being it is a micro sd iff it will work with my phone

Yes. Those cards will work. Make sure they're formatted as exfat, so you can insert high def movies or other files larger than 4GB.
You better check that they're real 512GB micro-SDs, especially if buying them online, as there are a lot of fakes around. SD Insight is useful for this.

It would help if you stated what security system you're implementing -- what type, brand, model I.D.???
The documentation that's included (or a reference to manuals on their web site) should state what type of cards, capacity limitations, and set up info. Don't just guess or make assumptions, follow their directions.

You need to make sure the whatever it is thing can use SDXC type micro-SDs, in order to use larger than 32GB. Also 512GB micro-SD have only just come out and are still quite expensive, maybe around $200-300, so beware of any vendors selling them online cheap.
