I returned my Droid some time ago because I could not forward customer blueprints and inquiries on ot my plants. The files were imp. tif. jpg. excel and word. I was told by Verizon that the phone might do it after some further updates. What is the real deal here. Will 2.1 fix this? I went back to my 2 year blackberry becaue the email was far more reliable and I could forward whatever came in with the emails I got. Is Android not ready for the business market yet, or have things changed since the Droid intro. Thanks for any help.

Will Android phones forward email attachments?

I just sent myself a test email with one of each of those file types (except a .imp) and they all came through fine on my Droid. I proceeded to forward the email to my work email and they forwarded along fine as well.
I'm using a gMail account and the gMail app on a Motorola Droid with 2.0.1.

as savy as I would like to be. Is your gmail account an "enterprise server" account. I do not have any email accounts, particularly my business email that is on an enterprise server. Most of my stuff is pop3. I have been thinking about getting an unlocked nexis one to try, but I worry about the email functionality for business. Thanks for your input.
IPhone? Would a Windows mobile phone work? I was told if I had an enterprise server I might have no problem, but i don't. I have also heard about touchdown and another email app, but they did not work for me back when i had my droid. I want an Android phone, but I must have flawless email like my Balckberry.
Have just tested with a .jpg file. Sent it from my desktop via an IMAP/SMTP account I own to my Googlemail account. Received fine using K-9 Mail (I don't use the Google Mail app) and from that I forwarded on to another IMAP/SMTP account I own and the .jpg came through fine.
I know that there can be issues with .exe and .zip files and some others as you cannot send these through a normal Googlemail account as they block them.

there are problems with the android system and email reliability. I want to switch to Android, but I lack the technical savy to work around the likely problems I will face in getting it to work for me like my blackberry does. I want to get email from 5 accounts reliably and be able to forward emails with blueprints and inquiries attached to them. Touchdown or the other email app might work for this? Has Android improved since the Droid introduction in a way that addresses these needs? I want a BIG clear screen, good net surfing, great email function, and a nice UI. I don't need a keyboard or even want one if I can type in landscape relaibly. Do I need to wait a while, or is there a phone out there that will do this for me in either windows, android, blackberry (no good phones), or Iphone. Would Iphone and windows mobile have the exact same email issues as android? Thanks for your ideas.
