This is funny. I being in a similar problem wish it was possible for me to port android over to the Nokia 5800, but the boot loader is locked and I have no idea how to flash it. So on the 16th I'm getting a new phone.
My phone has a 400mhz processor, the original G1 (HTC Dream for those of you across the pond
![Big Grin :D :D](/styles/smilies/google/biggrin.png)
) had a 528 mhz processor, and people complain of that being slow. There is no inconceivable way your device could run android, unless you want to sift through the code yourself and make enhancements.
To do this, this would require intimate knowledge of your specific processor architecture. Something very few would have, never mind the ability. Then assuming you did this, you would have to find a way of flashing it to your device, unlocking the bootloader. It isn't worth the effort.
If you are truly interested you can check out Nitdroid, and android port for Nokia Internet Tablets such as yours, send them an email perhaps the processes will be similar for the n770, however I think to get Nitdroid to work you need Maemo preinstalled.
