Will any of the s3 versions work on USA Virgin Mobile?

After reading around a bit moving to Virgiin Mobile is something I never even considered before. I never knew they were part of sprints network which is making me think of switching now since I am buying the phone at full price anyway. Actually the last 3 phones I have bought have been full price over the last 6 months or so!

Would sprint s3 version work in all facets with Vm USA?

It wouldn't magically just work on Virgin Mobile, it would have to be provisioned to work on VM, which it currently is not. Some XDA members have been able to get other Sprint phones working on VM, but it does take time.

It is also illegal due to messing with the MEID/IMEI/ESN, unless you have carrier assistance in moving it.

If you were messing with the ESN to receive service for free it would be, but because you would still by paying VM it's not. It's been talked about in XDA.

More than likely, VM will be getting the SGS III, I'd just wait until that time comes, especially since you're paying full price for the phone anyway.

Reason I suggest this:Although everything should work on the phone that you're wanting to flash from SPRINT to VM, there's always the chance that this may not be the case, usually w/flaws in SMS/MMS being one of the functions that are notorious for not working right on a flashed phone.

I'd at least go talk to a VM dealer who is savvy enough to know about these things & see when/if the SGS III is actually headed to VM.

just got my update for JB on VM for the UK so don't know what that means for USA.

VM in the UK & VM in the US are two separate entities + the phones are actually different (radios & processor).

As for any of the US carriers receiving JB, more than likely we won't see JB until 2013.

*EDIT:
Just announced that the SPRINT SGS III will begin to see ANDROID 4.1 starting 10/25/2012 (See PHANDROID NEWS article 10/24/12).
