Will EVO Get The Blockbuster Video App ?

The Droid X was just announced with the Blockbuster app included. Hopefully when the phone is released, Blockbuster will also release the app. If not, someone will need to strip it out so the rest of us can try it.
 
Blockbuster is seriously hurting financially. Netflix and RedBox have destroyed them and their stock has plummeted in recent years.

I can't imagine Blockbuster wanting to limit their app to one phone or one service provider. We'll be seeing it on the Evo at some point soon.
 
That's a good question. I was going to create a thread about this but you beat me to it. All the big screen phones have this app(HD2 and Droid X). Evo is the only one that don't and I never understood that. I sure hope that it will be in the market soon.
 
I can't understand why blockbuster isn't more popular.u get movies just as fast in the mail, and you get the benefit of 5 free in store rentals when you return a movie in store.plus they get movies a few weeks before redbox and netflix.and I just noticed they are starting thee own kiosks.
 
The Blockbusters by my house are now just a bunch of busted blocks. The one right around the corner from me closed down in the past week! The business model changed and they reacted too slowly. "Rent Outside the Box". Ha. Stupid marketing on BB's part.

I don't understand how that's stupid? They no longer have as many physical storefronts, so it's a catchy slogan for people to use the postal service or kiosk service.

You can get it for the evo. I have it, you just have to do some searching. I think I got it from xda I think. I haven't used it, but I did install it. I closed my blockbuster account down and now with netflix, so I got it at the time just to show some friends.
 
i added a whole bunch to my list today. they where slow to react, but i think they will stick around after they file for bankruptcy, cause you get a lot more from them for the same price.

A preplanned bankruptcy, which the Los Angeles Times said would last about five months, would allow Blockbuster to escape leases at some of its underperforming stores. This could mean the closure of another 500 to 800 locations
