Alright so I was wondering if I will be charged any extra for traveling to Toronto Canada, for data? I know I will be billed an extra for text, but I am fine with that. The last time I went to Toronto I had my enV3, now I have a droid 2.

So how much extra will I be charged for data, if any, or should/can I turn my 3g off?

Yes, you will be charged. And, unfortunately, VZW no longer has fixed-price unlimited international plans. Your choices are :

$30.00 Monthly Access: 75MB ($0.005 /KB after allowance)
$100.00 Monthly Access: 200MB ($0.005 /KB after allowance)
Pay Per Use Plan: $0.002/KB

CDMA Standard Roaming Per Minute Rate: $0.69
CDMA Value Plan Roaming Per Minute Rate $0.69

Calling From Canada

Turning off 3G won't stop data (it will slow it down). You need to turn off data if you don't want any data charges.

Make sure you go into settings on your phone and set the phone to not use data when roaming.

Menu>Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile networks, then make sure International Data Roaming is not checked.

There may be slight variations depending on Android version and model of phone.
