will I ever get 2.2 or should I root my phone?

I have a droid eris and 2.1 here in Colorado with verizon. all I want is to play flash content, like hulu. am I out of luck, or can I root my phone and run flash content? thanks for all advice.

It hasn't been announced yet. I would say maybe but leaning more towards no.

if you root your phone, you dont recieve the OTA updates...but i believe you can unroot and get it back again
