Will magnetic damage the Droid?

Hi all.
I have noticed that the magnetic flap of my droid pouch has activated the phone every time I insert or pull the phone in/out of the pouch.
Even though, the screen will shut off as it supposes to be, but I just wonder will the magnetic will affect, or damage the phone, such as the GPS feature.
Thanks in advanced for any advices.

It shouldn't have any negative effect on your phone. In order to actually damage electronics, you'd probably need a ginormous magnet, and even then it would probably only damage magnetic storage such as hard drives.

Thanks for the info.
I think it is OK to use the pouch; I have used it for a day, and nothing hasn't damaged to the phone.:)

The magnet in your pouch is fooling the phone into going into one of the dock modes. The Motorola multimedia dock and the car mount both have magnets in specific locations. When the Droid senses those magnets it automatically goes into multimedia (alarm clock) dock mode or car home mode respectively.

In the car home mode, the screen won't shut off automatically. So if you have a case whose magnets activate the car home mode, you're going to be running your battery down pretty fast.
