Will my phone number still show in "About Device" if Sim card is disabled on my old phone? For example, if I ask my phone provider to activate my new phone(which disables my old phone), will my phone number still show on my old phone in this section??...
What are you doing with your "old" phone?
If you are selling/disposing of your old phone - just do a Factory reset which should return the phone to as 'out of the box condition'.
It would seem you have transferred your old SIM to a new phone to continue with your existing phone number?
A Factory Reset should 'wipe' all data from the phones internal memory.
Yes. I transfered my old sim to a new phone and continued using my existing nymber.
My phone got stolen. I never had any data info on it except I might have left my old sim card. That is why I am asking if he will be able to see my phone number even on the old disabled sim card.
I cannot answer with full knowledge on that point. Many years ago I had my first cell phone stolen and when I discovered it was missing, I rang my Telco to find out what to do. They immediately put a stop on the account but not before the thief had used $40.00 of my prepay!!!
This process meant that the stolen phone was useless to the thief. I have continued with using that original SIM phone number I was issued with through numerous new phones and 3 different Telcos.
My original phone was a Motorola Flip model - then Huawei - Samsung. Hope this helps belay your fears.
I think the process involves "blacklisting" the IMEI number of the phone. Hence it cannot connect to ANY service provider.
Check with your Telco regarding your phone number remaining visible on your old phone as I would think the phone has been dumped by the thief by now.
