Without Hardware Acceleration, Pinch-to-Zoom on Opera Mobile is Beautiful | Android Phone Fans

in the video shown here with the galaxy s, the browser is pretty smooth. I can't imagine how much smoother will it get with hardware acceleration. I hope all apps start using hardware acceleration if they are not doing it already.

Wait? Say what?

Practically every single browser apart from Opera Mobile had has pinch to zoom for a VERY VERY Long Time. And I have never had one instant where pinch to zoom is not smoother. Now Opera is finally including this feature, and they are trying to sell it off as a novelty?

Sure, hardware acceleration is neat, but trying to showcase pinch to zoom as something new is just cOLD.

The novelty is not pinch to zoom but that hardware acceleration is used. they might release opera mobile this month but the guy in the video doesn't know whether hardware acceleration will be available out of the box or later through an update.
