Will simply having a slow SD card on my phone slow my phone down?

I have a really slow SD card and I don't run any apps on it. I have just chosen it as the default place to store cache files of the spotify app and photos when I click them from my camera app. Will having just that slow my phone down? If so, will that be permanent and cannot be recovered by removing the SD card?

I don't think so. Those apps are in the cloud aren't they @Yusuf Jamal?
