I sure hope so. The device is not even 1 year old. We should still be in the update arena.

I just read this: " Today is such a day, with news of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 (LTE) being updated to Android Marshmallow 6.0.1"
Now this is in Germany and from another Android site, but I'll bet it's true.

FYI: My UK 8" S2 got the marshmallow upgrade OTA last night. 915Mb download. Haven't really used it since but first impression was it was still working fine. The first thing I noticed was that power saving mode makes the task bar at the top go grey.

Well I'll answer my own question.

YES, the S2 WILL get Marshmallow, 6.0.1 to be exact.
I just downloaded and up-dated a little while ago.
1081.09MB file.
