Will you lose Unlimited Data with Hotspot Tethering?

I just upgraded my line and have Unlimited Data, so I should be grandfathered in. However, I occasionally add the Hotspot Tethering feature to my line if I go out of town, etc. Will I still be be able to do this after the tiered rates go into effect? Or will Unlimited data and the tethering plan be mutually exclusive?

If I add the tethering plan after the July date, will I lose Unlimited? What if I add the tethering now, will I still lose unlimited in July? Has Verizon addressed this scenario?

You'll be absolutely fine adding and removing tethering as you need to. The Hotspot feature is a completely different feature than unlimited data... the only was you can lose unlimited data is by changing that line to a feature phone, then changing it back to smartphone... it would cause the Smartphone data to drop off and the tiered data plan would replace it.

Thanks, that's good to know because I was definitely concerned given that AT&T would not allow you to add tethering to grandfathered data plans (still don't actually). Guess we'll find out for sure soon enough, but it sounds promising on Verizon. Are you just guessing or are you certain?
