Contacts loads just fine on my droid, but when I try it on my Win XP, it gets stuck on

From the command prompt, I also entered
tracert www.google.com
ping www.google.com
The former said timed out over and over, the ping ponged.

Okay, I surrender. Tried it on Chrome, which I keep around for calamities like this, and it works there. So it’s all my ancient IE8 fault.

Bingo. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Security > Enable DOM Storage, and it works. No idea why...

Web storage and DOM storage (document object model) are web application software methods and protocols used for storing data in a web browser. Web storage supports persistent data storage, similar to cookies but with a greatly enhanced capacity and no information stored in the HTTP request header. And a special thanks to the silent voice that corrected my calling the problem XP when I should’ve said IE, and especially to the silent nagging that I finally switch to Firefox/Thunderbird. I think I’ll appreciate it a lot, once I get over forty-seven years of Microsoft browsing. And yes, XP is still a problem, but not nearly as cumbersome as IE.
