Windows Mobile or iOS

Is it possible to get Windows Mobile, iOS, or webOS on Android pre-installed phones? Say iOS on the Evo or something like that. I know that just about each of these phones can have Android ported to it but what about us being able to port their OSes?

I was curious even if it was illegal, not that I would try because it's illegal and I imagine very time consuming but I ask just out of curiosity.

I put this in "Android Themes" because I didn't know what other topic would be suitable.

Hmm, I can't answer that one. I do know that it would have to be illegal. In order to do something like that, I would think you'd have to start from the ground up. Windows mobile is designed to work with phones that have SIM cards, that is just one specific. I'm sure it is possible, but it won't run in the same way.

Aha! Interesting. I guess the iPhone was also apart of this as the one designed was designed for only GSM networks which kinda makes sense now! I hadn't thought about those being only on SIM networks. But it still is kind of interesting because we do have Android OS running on some SIM phones such as the G1 so that still doesn't fully explain it. It explains why it can't be ported easily to my phone. Thanks though, it starts to make sense. I had heard it would be illegal as both OSes, WM and iOS, are both copyrighted whereas Android is freeware available to all. Thanks for the answer! I have some clarity on the subject now.

is there a theme or a way to make android look and feel like ios? not actually porting ios over but theme it to look and feel like it as you did with win 7 phone

Congradulations now you have a lookalike iPhone

But what I don't understand is WITH ALL THE COMPLETE CONTROL ANDROID GIVES USERS TO CUSTOMIZE THEIR PHONES WHY WOULD ANYONE EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING A TOY LIKE AN IPHONE OR WINDOWS 7. I mean the sheer fact that were able to do this is a testimony to greatness lol. IPhone won't even let you do something as basic as customizing ringtones, let alone switch your keyboard or messaging app

They treat their users like children

By the way there's also a over a huge assortment of media players and music players on the android market as well I'm sure at least a few of them will give you that ios look your striving for

Wp7

-Download metro launcher

- look for the wp7 keyboard on the market

Scour this theme forum and you will find everything else you need

Thanks for the themes. For me, I simply like being able to continually show off to my friends how much I can do with my phone. And one of these that I wish I could do is put another OS onto the phone like they can do with their phones. I guess I just like gloating ;P I get enough of it by having Android alone, but it's just so much cooler to have more to go off on haha

I second this opinion

Oh yeah if you're looking for wp7 or ios ringtones download "zedge" if you happen to be rooted you can also download an ios boot screen that is floating around the web. There are also ways of changing your boot screen without root.
