Windows Phone

Howdy guys. Does anyone here have any experience using the windows phone? If so does anyone know if the windows dwvices can be jailbroken/rooted? What would the benefits be? I understand that there is a set of developers tools that can be installed giving a command prompt and file manager but does anyone know if extra hardware/software access can be achieved a la android (underclock, voltage control, bloat removal etc). What about third party apps? Anyone know if these are available on Microsofts devices? Ive read a little on the windows phone but Ive never used one and Im curious to see what the Android Community's thoughts and opinions are. Thanks.

If you go check out XDA Developers, You'll see there are sections devoted to the windows phone and modifying those phones.

As far as development and stuff like that, i have not looked into that personally.

I used a lumia 900 for a couple of months and overall i enjoyed using it. App wise i was underwhelmed compared to the play store. I found some equivalents to some apps but i had to do without others. Achievements on some of the games made them way more enjoyable than the games on Android when, say, you beat all angry birds levels and if you switch devices its all gone but on Windows Phone you have the satisfaction of earning the achievement . Just one small convenience but I enjoyed it immensely.

When I finally came back to android though, i felt relieved that i had my life back on track. I didn't miss windows phone at all even though there were some conveniences. Just the thoughts of one android user, since that is what you were looking for.

I got to mess with one at the store recently. App market doesnt measure up. There are ways to root the phones but it just isnt the same. Android forever.
