i am running windows vista and have completly upgraded it....have installed the drivers but when i plug in the phone windows just keeps installing the mtp driver over and over and phone never shows up. i have tried it in camera mode and same thing just keeps running install.

anyone have any ideas or help

thanks

You say you installed the driver ? By itself ?

It might be worth installing Kies, if not done so already. This will make sure you have all proper driver installed.

yep...
have it installed also...have removed it reinstalled it
removed the drivers reinstalled them
not sure if it makes a difference but it takes forever to install the samsung drivers by themselves from the samsung file

U need to reboot your PC after installing Samsung drivers, I'm using windows 7 and I no problems.

Check to make sure you don't have samsung mobile driver installed. This has to be removed separately from Kies (although Kies installs it). Do not use the Samsung drivers. Let the phone install using the Windows driver. Once its communicating with the computer you can get at its files with Windows Explorer. If this works and you want to use Kies, use Kies Air.
I have been going round and round with this and Samsung since I got the Galaxy S3. Outside of not being able to use Kies with the USB connection, everything else works fine.

when connected pull down the notification bar and click where it says "connect as" change to PTP mode and that should work
